Diminish Value
Diminish Value or DV is the loss in market value of a vehicle from it's pre-wreck fair market value due to a accident that required cosmetic and/or mechanical repairs. This is not the same thing as depreciation. In other words, the value of your vehicle as declined due to a accident that was of no fault of your own. It can only be claimed on a liability claim, which means the responsible parties insurance carrier.
